I began by drawing a swan. I took the image of the swan and aligned it to the grid so that it was straight. I then used the reflect tool to replicate the swan. I aligned the two swans so that they were parallel. I grouped the two swans, I then used the reflect tool to create two swans directly below my original swans and upside down. I grouped the reflected swans and used the align tool again. I repeated the process each time making a bigger group of swans and aligning them until I had the pattern of swans you see in the image above.
